Workshops

Workshops

Workshops are intentional gatherings that centre the creative process and the shared experience. Facilitated by passionate and experienced expressive arts therapists, every workshop is thoughtfully curated, holding space for a wide variety of personalised experiences. The art making processes is centred, meaning there are no step by step instructions leading to the same outcomes, there is no pressure to be artistic or “get it right,” techniques and materials are demonstrated and then curiosity leads each individual.

We emphasise the creative process by:

  • centring: imagination, playfulness, experimentation, messiness, ‘ugly art’
  • invitational processes: respond with the art materials in any ways that interest you or ‘feel right.’
  • We do not offer step by step instructions, there is no ‘masterpiece’ to replicate or compare your work to
  • We demonstrate techniques and then let curiosity lead. Create intuitively. Choose to stay totally in your comfort zone or create at your edges for new awareness.
  • Offering diverse art materials for engagement in ways that offer autonomy for each participant to try at their own pace. Our materials are often sustainable, eco friendly and nature immersive.

Purpose of our Expressive Arts Workshops:

  • Re-spark innate creativity
  • Courageous self expression
  • Scaffold intentional, sustainable, arts based routines that nourish and support wellbeing and healing.
  • Relational – gathering fosters wellbeing, disrupts our sense of aloneness & bears witness to our self expression and humanity.

We also offer Focus Groups which are gatherings for regular self exploration, self expression & living out new ways of being within a collective. They are formed around a theme and are closed, gathering for a specified time such as 8 sessions weekly or 10 months, gathering monthly. For example - Women’s Circle, capacity building group, navigating midlife transitions group.
